The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), in partnership with the Kolmarg Eyesight Foundation, successfully carried out a five-day free medical outreach at Mushin Local Government Area, Lagos State.
The program, which ran from 7th to 11th July 2025, was designed to provide both general healthcare services and specialized eye care to residents, particularly targeting underserved individuals who have limited access to quality medical treatment. The outreach created an opportunity for patients to receive consultations, medications, corrective eyewear, and surgical interventions at no cost.

Key highlights of the outreach include: a total of 2,751 patients received medical consultations and treatment for various health conditions, 247 surgeries were successfully performed, including cataract, pterygium, and other minor procedures, 879 prescription glasses were distributed to restore clear vision and support daily activities, and 1,863 essential drugs were dispensed free of charge to aid treatment and recovery.
This impactful initiative demonstrates the commitment of NNPC and SNEPCo to improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria, not only through infrastructure and energy development but also by investing in community well-being. Through the collaboration with Kolmarg Eyesight Foundation, the outreach brought relief, restored sight, and improved the quality of life for thousands of residents in Mushin, Lagos State.
