Eye Health Advocacy
Advocacy for eye health seeks to raise awareness, influence policies, and mobilize resources to ensure that everyone has access to quality, affordable, and equitable eye care services.
At Kolmarg Eyesight Foundation we also carry out eye health advocacy because;
Many eye conditions are preventable or treatable, but require awareness, early detection, and access to services.
Vision loss has large social and economic costs (reduced education, productivity, quality of life).
People with disabilities are often doubly disadvantaged and deserve equitable access.
Integrating eye health into broader health and development agendas helps ensure sustainability and reach.
Our advocacy goals include to:
- Secure sustainable funding for eye care services and research.
- Promote awareness on prevention, early detection, and treatment of common eye conditions.
- Strengthen workforce capacity and equitable service delivery.
- Foster partnerships among governments, NGOs, private sector, and communities.
Our approach involves:
- Evidence-based campaigns highlighting the social and economic benefits of investing in eye health.
- Engagement with policymakers, healthcare leaders, and international organizations.
- Public education initiatives to encourage routine eye checks and preventive care.
- Leveraging World Sight Day and other global observances to mobilize attention and action.
Help someone see the world again.
